The Champion is back for 2010
Pro Modified Racing Association season

Bruce BolandBruce Boland to drive new Corvette Pro Modified in upcoming PMRA Tour

HAMILTON, ONTARIO (May 3, 2010) – The car may have a different body, but underneath the new 1963 Corvette Sting Ray shell and chassis the B&B Racing entry is pretty much as it was for 2009.

And that suits Bruce Boland just fine, as the Hamilton, Ontario-based driver won the Pro Modified Racing Association’s Championship Point Award Series in 2009.

“All the engine and drivetrain are pretty well the same stuff as last year,” said Boland, who won four of the six PMRA tour events last year. “The combination is basically the same, but we should have about 200 more horsepower, and the car will weigh about 200 pounds less.”

Last year’s PMRA title was Boland’s third in row, and each time he has driven to victory in a different Pro Modified. He and his 1953 Corvette won the 2007 title, and another 1963 Corvette won in 2008, and for 2009 he drove a 1967 Chevy Nova-bodied Pro Modified.

Carl Spiering steps out of driver’s seat
for 2010

JORDAN STATION, ONTARIO (May 1, 2010) – Although he may not be driving a race car this year, Carl Spiering is still one of the busiest people in drag racing.

The former Pro Modified driver will be behind the scenes in 2010, directing his attention on his engine-building business and other racing related projects, as well as providing tuning assistance to many of his ERD customers.

“Our focus right now is on engine building and track support,” said Spiering. With his Jordan Station, Ontario-based Engine Research & Development (ERD) facility, Spiering and his staff will continue to develop, build, and provide support in the performance engine arena. Along with engines for drag racing, ERD provides powerplants for dirt oval track, Sprint Car, tractor pull, and road racing applications.
