PMRA and Quick 32 Sportsman Series venues set for 2011 season

Schedules announced in two popular drag racing series

CAYUGA, ONTARIO (January 20, 2011) – The Pro Modified Racing Association, www.PMRA.ca, and the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts, www.Quick32.ca,is pleased to announce the 2011 racing schedule for both of these popular drag race series.

The PMRA will be entering its seventh year of competition, while the Quick 32 Sportsman Series will be starting its third season.

For 2011, the racing will consist of six events, and both the PMRA and Quick 32 Sportsman Series will compete together at all events.

The traditional season opener will take place on the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park May 20-22 for the Victoria Day Weekend.

Both series will return to TMP’s Cayuga for another three-day event June 10-12, and then partake in one of the sport’s biggest venues of the season, the Canadian Nitro Nationals July 1-3 at Cayuga.


Roth Racing 1941 Willys prominent exhibit at Canadian Motorsports Expo

TORONTO, ONTARIO (January 18, 2011) – Drag racing will be a big component of the upcoming Canadian Motorsports Expo, and the Pro Modified Racing Association will be well-represented with the Roth Racing 1941 Willys Pro Mod.

The Willys will be part of the CME’s “Quarter Mile Corral” organized by prominent drag racing photographer and journalist Bruce Biegler and DragRace Canada.com. Other quarter-mile machines to be displayed include Mark Martino’s NHRA Pro Stock car, the KonRodz Funny Car of Spiro Kontos, and Gus Mantas’ NHRA Barracuda Super Stock.

rothBased in Kitchener, Ontario, the Roth Pro Modified, owned by Jim Roth and driven by son Jeff Roth, placed seventh in the 2010 Pro Modified Racing Association Championship Point Award Series presented by Magnum Auto Parts and Patio Passport, qualifying in the top five in several PMRA events, along with two semi-finals. In 2009 the team placed third in points, highlighted with an event victory at the Grand Bend Motorplex in September of that year.


Roth Racing returns to Pro Modified Racing Association for 2011

KITCHENER, ONTARIO (January 10, 2010) – Roth Racing is ready to return to racing for the 2011 Pro Modified Racing Association.

“Pretty well everything is the same as last season,” noted team owner Jim Roth. “There will be some chassis changes, and we’ll be detuning the car to comply with the new Series rule changes.”

Roth’s 1941 Willys Pro Modified has been running a state-of-the-art PSI Superchargers Screw-type Supercharger, and with some limitations placed on cars with this device over the Roots Supercharger, Nitrous and Turbocharged entries Roth and his group will be making the necessary adjustments.

Sitting on a Lowdown Hot Rods chassis, the popular Willys is powered by a 526-cubic inch Alan Johnson engine with input from Atchison Racing. A Bruno Automotive Products/Lenco three-speed sits behind the engine, which has a fuel system courtesy of Atchison.
