Racing heats up at Toronto Motorsports Park July 1-3
CAYUGA, ONTARIO (June 30, 2011) – Drag racing at its finest and in a variety of classes returns to the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park July 1-3.
The Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series will make their third appearance for 2011 at the track’s Canadian Nitro Nationals in Cayuga, Ontario.
A different winner has been declared in each race so far this year in all the drag race series and teams will be ready for the continuous racing action when they take to the Cayuga quarter-mile this weekend.
Leading the PMRA Pro Modifieds in the Championship Point Award Series presented by Magnum Auto Parts and Patio Passport is Vito Montesano with the slimmest of margins. Montesano, of Maple, Ontario has 581 points, while three-time PMRA champion Bruce Boland, of Hamilton, Ontario, who won the opening event, is next with 580 points. Third with 563 points is Eric Latino of Whitby, Ontario, who won the previous event.

Montesano, Sampson, and Hope lead going into TMP’s Cayuga Dragway July 1-3 event
CAYUGA, ONTARIO (June 20, 2011) – Vito Montesano of the Pro Modified Racing Association, Phil Sampson of the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series’ Randy Hope are ready to increase their respective leads in the three drag race series when they return to the track for round three at the Canadian Nitro Nationals July 1-3 at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park.
Montesano, of Maple, Ontario, leads the PMRA Championship Point Award Series presented by Magnum Auto Parts and Patio Passport, followed by Bruce Boland of Hamilton, Ontario, and Eric Latino of Whitby, Ontario. Round one in the PMRA Pro Modifieds went to Boland, and Latino won the second event.

Camaro driver bests tough Pro Modified field at Toronto Motorsports Park during Cayuga Dragway’s Xtreme Mayhem Nationals
CAYUGA, ONTARIO (June 17, 2011) – The competition was strong, but at the end of the day Eric Latino won the Pro Modified Racing Association race at the Xtreme Mayhem Nationals at TMP’s Cayuga Dragway.
With his new G-Force Race Cars 1969 Camaro Pro Modified, Latino, from Whitby, Ontario, held off Vito Montesano in the final round to take the win with a 6.758-second, 232.95 mph run against Montesano’s 6.630-second, 157.76 mph.
Montesano, of Maple, Ontario was the driver to beat all weekend as he qualified his 1969 Camaro Pro Modified in number one spot with a 5.889-second run. Latino qualified number two in the field with a 5.898-second, 243.72 mph posting. Both teams ran five-second passes consistently over the weekend.

CAYUGA, ONTARIO (June 12, 2011) – The second event in the Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series was held over the weekend at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park, and winners were confirmed in all three drag race series.
The PMRA final was a first in the Pro Modified series, as both competitors were entering the final with sub-six second postings. After a bit of a wild ride, Eric Latino of Whitby, Ontario, took the win over Vito Montesano of Maple, Ontario.
With his new 1969 Camaro, Latino recorded a 6.758-second, 232.95 mph pass over Montesano’s 6.630, 157.76. Montesano qualified for the race in number one spot with his 1969 Camaro with a 5.889, and Latino started in the number two spot with a 5.898.
Semi-finalists in the PMRA race were John Russo of Middletown, Massachusetts, and Mark Nielsen of Brantford, Ontario.
