GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (September 5, 2010) – The 2010 Pro Modified Racing Association season ended with a new champion and a former champion shared his first win of the season.

In the fifth and final PMRA event, held at the Grand Bend for the Teamsters Union “Thunder by the Beach” event, race finalists Mike Stawicki and Bruce Boland shared the race honors as co-winners.

With his success this season, Mike Stawicki, of Medina, NY, secured enough points to capture the PMRA Championship Point Award Series presented by Magnum Auto Parts and Patio Passport.

The driver of the G-Force Race Cars 1968 Firebird qualified number two in the Marydel Homes Qualifying Session for the final race, with a 5.958, 251.25 pass behind the terrific number one posting of Vito Montesano of Maple, Ontario, who recorded a 5.887, 238.53 with his ERD-powered 1968 Camaro.

HAMILTON, ONTARIO (May 3, 2010) – The car may have a different body, but underneath the new 1963 Corvette Sting Ray shell and chassis the B&B Racing entry is pretty much as it was for 2009.

And that suits Bruce Boland just fine, as the Hamilton, Ontario-based driver won the Pro Modified Racing Association’s Championship Point Award Series in 2009.

“All the engine and drivetrain are pretty well the same stuff as last year,” said Boland, who won four of the six PMRA tour events last year. “The combination is basically the same, but we should have about 200 more horsepower, and the car will weigh about 200 pounds less.”

Last year’s PMRA title was Boland’s third in row, and each time he has driven to victory in a different Pro Modified. He and his 1953 Corvette won the 2007 title, and another 1963 Corvette won in 2008, and for 2009 he drove a 1967 Chevy Nova-bodied Pro Modified.
