Dave Earhart hopes consistency pays off for 2010 PMRA season
Veteran Pro Modified racer returns to upcoming drag race series with 2002 Camaro
STRATROY, ONTARIO (May 18, 2010) – Long-time Pro Modified Racing Association competitor Dave Earhart will once again be behind the wheel of his 2002 Camaro Pro Modified when the 2010 season kicks off May 21-23 for the Victoria Day Weekend at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, Ontario.
“I’ve just finished putting the motor back together and bolting it in the car right now,” Earhart said from his Strathroy, Ontario shop. “We’re trying to add a few more tricks to the car for this year.”
The winner of the Sanair event during the 2007 PMRA season, Earhart’s Camaro is powered by a 526-cubic inch KB Olds, with a Kobelco 14-71 supercharger sitting on top. The Camaro sits on a double rail chassis updated by himself and crew chief Simon Couto, but behind the engine is a unique two-speed transmission based on a TH 400 from the shop of Hutch’s Transmission Service.
