TOTTENHAM, ONTARIO (February 28, 2012) – Top Fuel Dragster driver Ike Maier will be returning to the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series for 2012, competing in the upcoming NHRA race at Gainesville, Florida.
He will also be racing in the NHRA’s Pro Modified series as well.

“We’re going to give it another shot,” said Maier, who acquired his NHRA Top Fuel license last year. “We are going to try and qualify at the Gators and make some rounds.”
The race, known as the Tire Kingdom NHRA Gatornationals presented by NapaFilters.com, is the 43rd running of the Florida race, which has been the traditional NHRA East Coast opener.

Pro Modified driver hoping to get TF license in Las Vegas in early November
SCHOMBERG, ONTARIO (October 7, 2010) – Ike Maier has entered into an agreement with Canada’s foremost Top Fuel dragster team to acquire his Top Fuel license.
Maier, of Schomberg, Ontario, will be testing with the Paton Top Fuel Racing Team based in Paris, Ontario. The testing is to take place at the Strip at Las Vegas, Nevada in early November following the NHRA Las Vegas Nationals.
Headed up by Barry Paton, Paton Racing has raced with Todd Paton behind the wheel of the Top Fueler, as well as Alberta’s Tim Boychuck in both the NHRA and the IHRA.
In the past few years Maier has raced competitively in the Pro Modified class with his 1963 Corvette in the PMRA, the IHRA, and the NHRA, and, if successful in obtaining his NHRA Top Fuel license, plans to compete in NHRA national events for 2011.
