Round three of PMRA Pro Modified racing goes to Mike Stawicki

GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (July 18, 2010) – Mike Stawicki has made it known that he is the force in Pro Modified racing this season.

The veteran driver of the G-Force Race Cars 1968 Firebird from Medina, New York, qualified number one for race three in the 2010 Pro Modified Racing Association tour, and went the distance to win his first PMRA event of the year and the first IHRA Ironman of his career.

Stawicki beat former Alcohol Funny Car driver Paul Noakes of London, Ontario in the final. Noakes, who has settled nicely behind the wheel of the Noakes and Martin Racing1963 Corvette, qualified seventh, and ran a stout 6.293, 223.28 final but it was no match for Stawicki’s 5.820, 253.28 victory run.

CAYUGA, ONTARIO (July 13, 2010) –With a rookie leading the points race, two different winners in the last two races, and one of the regular PMRA competitors setting a North American Pro Modified speed record, this weekend’s Pro Modified Racing Association event during the IHRA MOPAR Nitro Jam Nationals promises to be one of the best in the history of the drag race series.

This weekend’s racing will be held at the Grand Bend Motorplex in Grand Bend, Ontario.

“We’re now into our sixth season. We have a solid series and a great group of dedicated teams” said Bruce Mehlenbacher, Director of Operations for the PMRA. “Our car counts have increased dramatically, and our shows are very popular with the fans.

CAYUGA, ONTARIO (July 2, 2010) – Veteran Pro Modified racer Mike Stawicki of Medina, New York leads first day qualifying and set a new Pro Modified Racing Association Series record with a 5.803-second pass at 255.15-mph in his G-Force built and Mike Stawicki Racing powered Supercharged Hemi at the Canadian Nitro Nationals at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, Ontario.
