The Working Group is responsible for the
development of draft criteria suitable for a national classification
system and to assess implications on provincial and federal regulations.
A Proposal for a Harmonized Pesticide
Classification System for Canada
The Federal/Provincial/Territorial (FPT) Committee on Pest
Management and Pesticides has a mandate to seek harmonization, where
applicable, of federal, provincial and territorial pesticide programs and
policies.
The FPT Committee identified that there were benefits in developing a
single harmonized pesticide classification system, to replace existing federal
and provincial classification systems. Stakeholders are invited to comment on "A Proposal for a Harmonized Pesticide Classification System for
Canada".
