Vito Montesano returning to PMRA after a year’s absence
Former champion to debut new Firebird Pro Mod for 2013 season
CONCORD, ONTARIO (February 27, 2026) – After a year’s absence, 2011 Pro Modified Racing Association champion Vito Montesano is returning.
“I’ve missed it a lot,” Montesano said about his year away from the PMRA. “I need the fix, it gets in your veins.”
Montesano will be returning with a new car for 2013, a Vanishing Points Race Cars 1968 Firebird. The Firebird will be powered by a 522-cubic inch Brad Anderson (BAE) Hemi from the shops of ERD (Engine Research & Development) of Jordan Station, Ontario with a C-Rotor Screw-type Supercharger from PSI Superchargers and tweaked by ERD. A Lenco three-speed with a Coan Racing torque converter sits behind the engine.
Rocky Di Lecce steps it up for 2013 PMRA Pro Modified season
Team hoping for more success with increased power for the 1968 Camaro
MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO (February 16, 2026) – Rocky Di Lecce will be returning to the Pro Modified Racing Association with some more horsepower and a lighter car for 2013.
“We found some more horsepower and lightened up the car,” noted Di Lecce, who placed fifth in the PMRA points race in 2012, his first year in the popular Pro Modified series. “We should be faster than last year.”
The 1968 Chevy Camaro is powered by a 526-cubic inch Brad Anderson (BAE) Hemi sitting in the Tim McAmis Race Cars chassis. A Lenco Drive sits behind the engine, which features a Kobelco Supercharger and Waterman Racing fuel system. The former OSCA champion qualified for all PMRA races last season, his best showing a runner-up finish to eventual PMRA champion Eric Latino during the IHRA MOPAR Nationals at Grand Bend. His best run in the Camaro to date has been a 5.99-second, 230-mph posting.
