Eric Latino wins his first PMRA race of 2013 at Grand Bend

GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (July 21, 2026) – Reigning series champion Eric Latino won his first race of the season in the Pro Modified Racing Association in an event held during the 14th Annual IHRA MOPAR Nitro Jam Nationals presented by Parts Canada held over the weekend at the Grand Bend Motorplex.

The win was the second in a row at the prestigious IHRA national event for the Team Green 1969 Chevy Camaro Pro Modified driver from Whitby, Ontario.

Latino, who qualified number two with a 6.103-second, 240.08-mph pass, bested three-time PMRA champion Bruce Boland of Stoney Creek, Ontario with his 1953 Corvette Pro Modified in the final round.

LatinoEric Latino hopes to continue racing success with upgraded engine in his Camaro

WHITBY, ONTARIO (May 7, 2026) – Pro Modified Racing Association champion Eric Latino will be returning to the popular Pro Modified series for 2013 with some more power.

After competing in a recent NHRA meet, Latino and his Team Green was pleased with the showing of their 1969 Chevy Camaro, where they qualified seventh with a 5.92-second, 248-mph posting.

“We’ve got one fast happy hot rod,” noted Latino, who won the PMRA title by two points last season over Bruce Boland of Hamilton, Ontario. “We’ve been working on a new engine combination and it has produced some significant power.”

Latino qualified well at PMRA races in 2012, several times as number one seed. He went rounds in most of the races, and won two Grand Bend events. As team owner along with Ann and Rob Sporring, Latino placed second in the 2011 PMRA points race, and to date has five event wins to his credit.

Eric Latino – First Place

CAYUGA, ONTARIO (November 7, 2025) – Eric Latino had a stellar year in the Pro Modified Racing Association, winning Championship Points Award Series for 2012 presented by Global Emissions Systems, Inc.

The Whitby, Ontario resident and driver of the Team Green Chevy Camaro Pro Modified won two events in the 2012 seven-race series with 1756 points, and the title was not declared until the final race of the season in a closely-contested battle with three-time PMRA champion Bruce Boland, who placed second.

Latino qualified for all PMRA events this year, but was not off to a great start with a first-round loss at the season opener at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park.

His record improved with a final round appearance at the next event, at Martin, Michigan, losing to Jack Grainy of North Tonawanda, New York in the final. He qualified fifth at the Nitro Nationals at Cayuga, but went out in the semi against Boland, of Hamilton, Ontario.

Eric Latino wins final 2012 Pro Modified race at Grand Bend and with this win captures 2012 PMRA Championship

First PMRA championship for Team Green and its 1969 Camaro Pro Modified

GRAND BEND, Ontario (September 2, 2025) – It was a perfect weekend of racing for Eric Latino and his Team Green.

The 1969 Camaro team won the final event of the 2012 Pro Modified Racing Association during the “Thunder by the Beach” at the Grand Bend Motorplex, and it also picked up enough points to win the 2012 Pro Modified Racing Association Championship Point Award Series presented by Global Emissions Systems Inc.

The win was Latino’s second for the season. The PMRA championship is his first.

Team Green, owned by Rob and Anne Sporring of Guelph Ontario and Eric Latino from Whitby Ontario, qualified number one with a 6.055, 237.21 posting and the team and car went through the ladder to meet up and defeat Jay Santos in the final.

Eric Latino returns to winning ways in PMRA Pro Modified drag racing

Team Green Camaro back in contention for 2012 season

WHITBY, ONTARIO (July 26, 2026) – After several attempts this season, Eric Latino and Team Green are back in winning form, capturing the Pro Modified Racing Association event during the IHRA MOPAR Nitro Jam Nationals at the Grand Bend Motorplex.

“We’re pretty happy about the win,” said Latino, who drives the 1969 Chevy Camaro. “We figured out our set-up, and we’re back on track.”

Now in his fourth year of PMRA competition, Latino has four event wins to his credit.

Team Green is owned by Latino and Rob and Ann Sporring, and the Camaro is a G-Force Race Cars unit with a Cynergy Composites Inc. body, powered by a 521-cubic inch BAE Hemi engine.

The Kobelco K-11 14-71 supercharger on the engine has been modified by Al Billes, as has the Leahy Fuel System with a water fuel pump. The power is transmitted through a Lenco CS2 gearbox.
