Bast Tire and Auto Service was established pre 1977 by Ralph Bast as an out of home 24 hour road service business. In 1977, Wayne Moser joined Ralph Bast at a small shop in St. Agatha, Ontario servicing local farmers with tires for agriculture machinery and equipment, as well as some commercial truck fleets. Within that same year Wayne and his new partner Don Wagner took the business in a new direction.
Within the first 10 years of business, Bast Tire expanded into the automotive repair business and opened new shops in Kitchener, Listowel and transferred their head office operation to their current location in Waterloo at 1 Bast Place. In the early 1990’s, Bast Tire consolidated the business into one location retaining the human resources and shedding the excess overhead. This decision resulted in more sales within our Waterloo location than in all three.
Throughout the 1990’s, Bast Tire has grown into Waterloo Region’s leader in tires and service. In 2004, Bast Tire launched a store dedicated to the commercial truck tire market and located near highway 401 and highway 97.
