Rob Atchison qualifies number one in PMRA racing at Grand Bend

GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (June 21, 2026) – Qualifying for the Pro Modified Racing Association has been set as the PMRA Pro Modifieds take to the track today for eliminations at the MOPAR Nitro Jam Nationals at the Grand Bend Motorplex.

The PMRA has participated for several years in Canada’s largest drag racing event, and this traditional continues for the series’ 10th anniversary.

Pacing the field with a 6.021, 237.96 pass is Rob Atchison of London, Ontario. For the former IHRA Funny Car champ, this is his first number one qualifier in his PMRA career. Right behind him his long-time PMRA racer Jeff Roth of New Hamburg, Ontario while three-time PMRA champion Bruce Boland of Stoney Creek Ontario is third.

A new PMRA driver, Mike Yedgarian of Toronto, is next with his 1968 Firebird, and fifth in qualifying is Derek Hawker of Corbyville, Ontario.

Rounding out the field is Jason Kalso of Clarkston Michigan, Denis Lachance of Quebec City Quebec and Paolo Giust of Osgoode Ontario.

Eliminations are scheduled to take place Sunday, June 22 with the other Professional classes.
