Eliminations set for PMRA, Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and PBSS at Grand Bend

BolandBoland, Goddard, Williams, and Orfanidis number one qualifiers during RPM Magazine / Lucas Oil Spring Blowout

GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (May 18, 2026) – Qualifying was completed today for the Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series during their season opener at the Grand Bend Motorplex in Southwestern Ontario.

The PMRA, Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and PBSS are competing in the three-day RPM Magazine / Lucas Oil Spring Blowout at Grand Bend, and eliminations in all series will be held Sunday, May 18.

Leading the PMRA into the final rounds is three-time PMRA champion Bruce Boland of Stoney Creek, Ontario, who posted a 6.131 at 233.10 with his B&B Racing 1968 Firebird. Jason White of Syracuse, NY qualified second in the field, with Cobourg, Ontario’s Al Martorino in third.

The turbo-charged 1958 Nash of Wes Goddard of Guelph, Ontario heads ups the Top Sportsman Side of the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts. Goddard ran a 6.919 at 222.27 for top spot, followed by Dan Flanigan of Buffalo, NY in his Camaro and Kevin Wicke of Stratford, Ontario in his Dodge Stratus.

FlaniganOn the Top Dragster side of the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, Lyle Williams’ Racetech dragster took number one qualifier with a 5.946 at 230.41 for the Strathroy, Ontario driver. Next is Glen Vardy of Burlington, Ontario, and third is Tony Positano of Toronto.

Riding his Suzuki in the Pro Bike side, John Orfanidis of Toronto qualified number one in the PBSS with a 7.391 at 176.50, followed by 2013 PBSS champ Dan Cryderman of Thamesville, Ontario and Ted Glinny of Milton, Ontario, both Pro Bike entries in the series, presented by Wiseco Performance Products.

Round one of eliminations for the PMRA, Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and PBSS gets underway Sunday, May 18 at 11:15 am with final round eliminations to take place later at five pm.

OrfanidisThe Pro Modified Racing Association (PMRA), www.PMRA.ca enters its 10th season of popular Pro Modified racing this year, while the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, presented by NAPA Auto Parts, www.Quick32.ca will begin its sixth season, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series (PBSS) presented by Wiseco Performance Products, www.PBSS.ca begins its fourth year of operation. Several times during the race season all three series compete at the same weekend events, offering a colourful, diverse, and exciting package of drag racing action.
